She began with charcoal drawing in the studio of the painter María del Rosario Álvarez de Sotomayor on Calle Espalter. In those drawings, one could already see her ease and skill with the figure, which would become one of her favorite subjects.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Soon, drawing became a means of preparation for eventually transferring these compositions to canvases, where oil painting allowed him to explore light and color in greater depth. It was at the Peña Academy that he took the leap to also begin painting \u003cstrong\u003enatural landscapes, which would become his second favorite subject\u003c\/strong\u003e .\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eAlthough he never abandoned painting, for many years he was unable to dedicate the time he needed to become a professional.
