A place where every shape has a story, every stroke a purpose.
In a world of grand gestures and structures, we appreciate the value of the small. Ondart was born as a welcoming, accessible, and carefully curated space where you can find works of art that become the soul of the space you inhabit.
Ondar and Ondarea mean inheritance and legacy respectively. The choice of the root of these words as part of the name, which is completed with Art , reflects the idea of generational transmission that underlies artistic techniques.
The purpose of this project, which begins in 2025, is to offer a meeting place for artists and art lovers, away from the noise and the spotlight, from the immediate and the ephemeral. From the merely decorative.
Art has the power to make visible what is not always apparent, and that is why each work is special, just like the eyes of the viewer. Therefore, we seek out artists who convey a unique way of seeing the world and who connect with us so that, when we contemplate their work in the spaces we inhabit, we can pause to remember what drew us to it and reaffirm the satisfaction of owning it.
Covadonga, an art historian by training, is the public face and driving force behind Ondart. She has focused her education on the vast universe of art, and beauty, craftsmanship, and meticulous execution are elements she particularly values. All of this is reflected and embodied in Ondart.
